Honor your Energy

This quote below comes from the book Chakra for Beginners.  I felt it holds a powerful message and wanted to share it with others.

In order to honor your energy you must start from where you are and
all that got you this far. Honor your current energy patterns, including your
additions, habits, negative traits, petty issues etc… We are all human, and we
all have human frailities-our behavior patterns that we are not particular proud
of.  This is part of our humanity.To honor your energy as is, start by not judging your humanity. If you hold the belief that you’ll know when ………………………..
you are making progress on your path by seeing your negative traits and neurotic
tendencies disappear, you will never make progress. We’ll always have our
current stuff to work on. As we awaken to our higher selves, the issues become
more subtle, but they still come. We never escape our humanity, and when
it arises, try to be as compassionate with yourself as you would be with others
dealing with their human issues. This disempowers your issues. When you hold
their absence as the all poweful clue of your progress, you have given them way
to much power. Take your judgments about yourself off the pedestal and bring
them down to a human level. Its just your stuff, like everybody else has their
stuff, this is part of your agenda. It’s not off your path to the working with
your petty issues; it’s simply part of it. When jealousy, envy, petty
anger, judgments, etc….arise, see them as the current field of consciousness
that your soul needs to work with at this time. Instead of being distraight for
having the petty issues in the first place, you see them as growth. By accepting
your issues, they are easier to tame and will continue to become increasingly
more subtle.

DoTERRA oils can offer some wonderful ways to help strengthen your emotions.    

The method described below are designed for two individuals.  The intention is too help your emotions~gently release. These methods can be done individually on their own or you can build one upon the other.  If doing all methods you should allow ten minute break in between release sessions. 

 Before proceeding create space where there is no distractions and adding any personal items that may help you relax.  Close your eyes and set the intention that your wanting to release all stress or any other desired emotion.  If desired you can add deep synergistic breathing.  With the assistance of another person have them apply Balance from doTERRA to the bottom of both feet.  The person applying the essential oil should cross their wrist and hold the persons feet or ankles.  Keep the connection for ten minutes.

Another wonderful method is to apply Serenity from doTERRA essential oils to the navel, both feet starting with the left then applying to the right and finish with one drop to the forehead.  The personal applying the oils should then gently cradle the person head in their hands and hold this position for 10 minutes. 

The third method is one that involves helping the persons chakras.  Apply one drop of Geranium from doTERRA to each chakra in a clockwise direction, some of the chakra positions are very personal and if uncomfortable having another person apply the oil you can simply apply the oil in the clockwise motion yourself and then have the person continue with the next application that is comfortable. After each chakra has had the oil applied (all seven…Root, Sacral, Solar Plex, Heart, Throat, Third Eye and Crown) then continue by  applying one drop to the shoulders and inside of ankles and wrists (from left to right); the individual applying the oils should then cross their wrists and holds that position f 10 minutes. 

The last method uses the essential oil Frankincense.  One drop of Frankincense should be applied to the crown chakra and forehead; gently hold  one hand on the heart chakra and the other on the crown chakra.  Ensure you are comfortable so your not getting fatigue.  If needed place a pillow under your arm  that is holding the crown chakra to decrease fatigue.  Hold position for 10 minutes or until the person signals you that the process is complete.

The releases can be wonderful and very healing.  Finish by drinking plenty of fluids and perhaps journaling some of your thoughts. 

Peaceful Walking

 

Labyrinths are paths that have a unique history steeped in Gothic cathedrawls and Greek traditions. Different than a maze, labyrinth’s purpose isn’t to make you lost but to do the opposite. While walking the winding pathways you will be walking in a place of discovery and reflection. Walking a labyrinth combines meditation with exercise. In addition, it can be performed by all ages. Each individual can determine their own pace. Most people stroll slowly through the paths of the geometric design until they reach the center. There is no right or wrong way to walk a labyrinth, you simply do what feels right. Rev. Dr. Artress describes a three step process to be helpful for some individuals: a releasing stage on the way in, a time of reflection in the center, and a gentle return to the real world on the way out in which you absorb the lessons learned in previous first two stages. Take the path of peace allows you to take the time to connect with yourself or perhaps you have some land where you can create your own.  All you need is space and some natural materials.  Below is a picture of one that is simple yet provides all the same benefits as one that is elaborate.

In 1991 Rev. Dr. Lauren Atress, discovered a labyrinth hidden under the rows of chairs in Chartres Cathedral is believed to be the oldest existing labyrinth of medieval design.
 According to Rev.Dr. Artress the center is believed to be a place of great power and meditation. 
He says "the circle was seen as a healing element in cultures all over the world". 
There are more than 2,000 walking labyrinths around the country and open to the public. 
As a second choice you can also allow your fingertips do the walking by using a fingertip 
labyrinth design that allows you to trace in wood the unique path. You can find these on sites 
such as relax4life.com or stores that specialize in spiritual or religious items.

What are your thoughts?  We’re constantly thinking, but what are our thoughts?

Our mind creates 25-30 thoughts per minute on an average. This number increases when we are under stress and decreases when our mind is relaxed or we are asleep. Overall, our mind creates around 30,000-40,000 thoughts in a day.

There are 4 main types of thoughts:

Positive thoughts~ affirmative and focused; they carry best intentions for ourselves and others.

Necessary thoughts: I must not forget to go to the market today, or I have to collect the children from school at 4 PM.

Wastefull thoughts: thinking too much about the past, worrying about the future, thoughts about others that spill out as gossip.

Negative thoughts: feelings of anger, fear, ego, greed, doubt, sadness, regret and unease. They make us lazy and drain our energy.

A large percentage of our thoughts are negative or waste in nature; this is the root cause of our stress. By increasing the percentage of positive thoughts, we can experience a relaxed state of mind.

Visualization exercise for relaxation~

The visualization exercise uses a sunlit landscape as an analogy for the four types of thoughts. It can be used to increase percentage of positive thoughts everyday:

Visualize a beautiful valley with a lake, forested foothills and high mountains rising up into the clouds. This is the landscape of your mind.

Your position in this landscape and the form in which you are manifested depends on the quality of your thoughts.  Then sit quietly and allow your thoughts to run for a minute.  Then continue to sit for awhile and reflect about how many of these can you attribute to a particular type?

If you want to get rid of stress, consider trying to increase your percentage of positive thoughts and decrease those that are negative and wasteful thoughts. It takes effort to change patterns of behavior and negative/wasteful thoughts can be a huge factor but consider how your body is responding to those thoughts (low self esteem, anger, high blood pressure, insomnia etc… )  It’s something to consider when trying to make positive changes in your life.  We hear all the time from doctors how we have to change bad habits but do they give us the advice of where to start…..the first step is……..changing the way you think.

My question to you is; what are your thoughts?  We’re constantly thinking, but what are our thoughts and how are they affecting our bodies, our actions, our relationships….our thoughts affect everything.  Try answering the question, what are your thoughts affecting.  I hope you will sit down at the end of the day and figure out what type of thoughts you’re having and how you can think more positively.

Wu Wei~

One of the concept of Taoism is Wu Wei- which means “not doing”.

Wu Wei refers to non-action or inaction, and instead relies on letting things take their
natural course without interference.

This is a difficult philosophy for westerners to wrap their brains’ around.

The action of inaction?

The concept of not doing?  The first situations that are usually brought up are ones
involving violence.

For example, if you see someone stealing from another person.

Do you react and try to help or do you ignore what you saw ?

It can be a difficult concept to apply in many situations.

I think that the main goal of Wu-Wei is to live your
life in such a way as to make the gentlest impact on the world and people around you.

Go with the flow. Don’t go against the grain. Don’t be dramatic, don’t blow things out of proportion, and don’t panic.

Wu Wei is often compared to water in Taoist writings. Water itself is weak and without will, and
yet it has the power to erode stone, creating new paths for it to move down.

Taoists can have achieve great feats in the same manner- by embracing humbleness
rather than trying to bend others to their will.  One who embraces this can “Move
others without moving against others.”

The journey of empowerment comes with paying attention to the universal truths.  This is a summary written by Carolyn Myss in her book, Invisible Acts of Power.

~ You are where your suppose to be.  In every moment there are opportunities to lend support to someone else or to allow support to be given to you.

~ Pay attention to the meaning of your synchronicistic encounters because there is no such thing as a coincidence.

~ Within a second of your prayer your receiving help, it’s whether you’re paying attention to the answers.

Where do I place my Crystals ?

Often this is a question that comes to our minds when we have purchased a new crystal or perhaps found some great rocks while hiking.  Crystals and rocks can play a large part in maintaining positive energy in your environment.  The obviousl place is having them in your home, consider thinking beyond your home and consider placing them outside of your home around your yard and hanging from trees.  Another consideration is bringing them to your workplace, your gardens, your meditation area and sacred space.

Deciding where to place your crystals and rocks is a personal choice and your intuition can be ver helpful in determining just the rock location for their placement.  Perhaps you already have them in place some healers may recommend that you periodically cleanse this items and move them around.  If you get this feeling, don’t hesitate relocate them to a new place and consider adding other items with the initial rock or crystal to form a healing cluster.

When considering placing crystals rocks indoors consider what colors and special properties they will offer that space.  For example, in an office you may have computers, telephones, fax machine and all emit electromagnetic and radio waves and can bring environmental stress to that area.  You can help this space by placing some neutralizing and cleansing crystals.  Smokey Quartz, Obsidian or Black Tourmaline can all be placed on top of your computer or phone and they will help absorb negative waves of radiation and channel these waves back to the earth.

Another particular popular location is having them in your bedroom.  I would recommend you consider placing softer versions of crystals.  Amethyst,  Rose Quartz and Adventurine can all offer a gentler affect on you and can assist your sleep if placed under a pillow.

In a meditation space where you perform some healing and or perhaps you designate this area as your place for yoga it can be helpful to place crystals and stones that offer special properties.  Blue Chalcedony, Blue and Purple Flourite,  Orange and Green Calcite or among some of the few that will help prepare your space for relaxation and spiritual development.  It’s always helpful to use your intuition to decide where you want to place them in your room and always consider placing them in clusters together.

Initially everyone thinks of crystals being placed in their homes but try consider adding this wonderful energy to outside your home perhaps in your favorite lounge area, your garden, in your favorite tree.  If placed in your garden you will see that the crystals can enhance the energy of the plants.  In my home you can walk all the way around my yard and see milky quartz placed in the beds and in some of the pots I will place rocks I have chosen just for those plants.  Green stones are particular helpful.  Using Green Adventurine or Moss Agate can help with the plants colors.

Water is another consideration.  Many people like having water fountains or perhaps a small pond in their garden. Placing Rose Quartz or  Orange Calcite not only brings wonderful properties to the water but also color.  Then consider taking the water in this fountain and feed it to your plants allowing them to get energized !

The list of possibilities is endless, I’m always on the searching for crystals and rocks that call to me.  Once I have them home I cleanse them and then begin trying to determine where their new home will be.  I hope you’ll join me in placing some rocks in your inside and outside environment.

Understanding Chakra’s

From the Shiva~Svarodaya Tanta, traditional Indian teaching on the subtle anatomy of the body.

Over the last five thousands years, Sages, Philosophers and Mystics have described the subtle energies in our bodies and environment in numerous ways. However, it was generally agreed that where ever these energies meet together in a nature they form a circular spinning pattern, or vortices’s. We know them today as Chakras. It is responsible for absorbing the vital force, processing its energy, and distributing it to the physical body through the nervous and endocrine systems.

For example, negative feelings/thoughts can become lodged in our chakras which will reduce the amount of subtle energy they are able to provide; adversely then affecting your health.  One way chakras can be treated is by receiving Reiki.

In this post I’m going to describe to you the ten chakra centers.  Eight are located vertically and roughly in line with the spine.  Each governs a particular function.  There are two others, one located beneath the feet and the other is between the ankles.  In most meditations they will only cover seven.

The Root Chakra~ is located beneath the feet allowing you to draw energy up from the Earth and to also put energy into the Earth.  It’s what “grounds or roots” you. 1

Feet Chakra~The feet chakra is located between the ankles and is related to your movement and balance and equilibrium. 2

The Base Chakra~The Base chakra is at the bottom of the spine and it connects to the motor nerves and is concerned with survival and protection.  This area reacts to stress. 3

The Sacral Chakra~The Sacral Chakra is concerned with motivation and with your sexuality . 4

The Solar Plexus Chakra~This chakra is completes, its multi-functional network center.  Part of its function is related to growth and development. 5

The Heart Chakra~The heart chakra is the center of compassion action and desires.  It works on love. 6

The Throat Chakra~The throat chakra is the communications center and the link with your inner voices. 7

Base of the Brain Chakra~This chakra is concerned with actions.  The physical body is governed through it. 8

The Brow Chakra~The brow chakra is the physic command post and center of mental power. 9

The Crown Chakra~The crown chakra is concerned with knowing and links with the Higher Self; the highest aspect of your total being. 10

The more you can come to understand your Chakras and Meridians the easier it will to address any blockages that are being held in those areas. _____________________________________________________________________________________________
