Patchouli Essential Oil
Patchouli oil has an easily recognizable rich, musky-sweet fragrance. It can have a grounding, balancing effect on the emotions while providing excellent mood support. Patchouli is also widely used for wounds and tissue repair, as well as in skin care preparations or with ussies with acne and eczema.

Dr. David Hill in discussing the properties of patchouli mentions Patchouli having more than 24 sesquiterpenes that allows this essential oil to cross the blood-brain barrier making it a very effective protector of the central nervous system. He also suggests it is effective, in combination with vetiver, for children with ADHD or autism and adults with Alzheimer’s or recovering from a stroke. His application suggestions are to apply a few drops to the roof of the mouth, the base of the skull, or the bottom of the feet or to simply breath the aroma of patchouli.   15ml bottle

Dr. HIll from doTERRA oils gives some wonderful advice on how to help your body heal during the winter season.  Below are his recommendations for daily use:

Essential Oils to Consider Using Daily

CITRUS ~ Take 10-15 drops a day in water (or a capsule)—use Lemon, Lime, Bergamot, Wild Orange, or Grapefruit.

• Natural cleanser and detoxifier

• Aids in eliminating heavy metals

• Stress reduction

                                     

  BALANCE ~  apply 2-3 drops to the boom of your feet.

 • Antidepressant

• Regulates hormones

• Repairs wear and tear on central nervous system

CALMING OIL ~Lavender, Rosemary and Potchouli are wonderful calming oils.  Apply 1-2 drops nightly to bottoms of feet.  You can also make your own blend by combining 15 drops Roman, Chamomile, 20 drops Bergamot, and 25 drops Frankincense (mix blend in roller bottle—can dilute with coconut oil).  This aids sleeplessness and acts as a antidepressant.

ONGUARD ~Apply 2-3 drops along spine and then on bottoms of feet

      • Stabilizes the immune system

      • Diffuse to eliminate germs

FRANKINCENSE ~Take 2-3 drops under tongue twice a day or topically, or apply to neck at the base of the skull. It’s benefits include:

CORIANDER ~ Apply 1-2 drops on the bottoms of feet twice a week. If you have diabetes or any other blood sugar issue use this oil daily—can take it in a capsule.

Grapefruit “The Oil of Honoring the Body” 

Grapefruit is the main ingredient in doTERRA’s Slim & Sassy Blend. Grapefruit teaches true respect and appreciation for one’s physical body. It curbs emotional eating, and assist individuals in listening to their true physical needs and impulses (hunger, satiation, need for rest/sleep, etc). Grapefruit cleanses feelings of self-judgment and criticism by teaching one how to unconditionally love and accept their physical body.
