Milk is a luxuriant skin treatment when it is added to bath water. Milk exfoliates, softens and nourishes the skin. Cleopatra was known to use milk and honey as part of her skin and beauty treatments. There are several ways to enjoy a milk bath, if you look on the web you can find many natural recipes. Some of the ingredients listed below require grounding. I recommend using a coffee grounder and ground several cups to have on hand for making several bath pouches at once. Be sure to store in an air tight container and label with the date. Ingredients work best if used within six months. This is my own recipe and may need adjusted for your own taste and lifestyle.

When drawing your next bath place the pouch in the water. It may also be used directly on the skin to get the full benefit. Discard the pouch once finished.

Recipe for a single bath pouch:

1/2 cup of dried milk or you may substitute 1 cup for liquid milk

2 tablespoons of grounded oatmeal (instant is fine; but all oatmeal should be grounded)

2 tablespoons of grounded sunflower seeds

1 teaspoon of seasalt (optional)

3-5 drops of your favorite oil (optional)

You can place the ingredients in any natural fabric that you don’t mind throwing away. I like using cream colored hosier but you can also purchase bath pouches. Once the pouches are finished store in a air tight container and use within six months. They make wonderful gifts and you can finish the pouches with nice ribbon and a card that includes the ingredients. Enjoy~
