THERAPEUTIC DRUM WORKSHOP

Drum Clinic (Class) for Beginner's This class is designed for a beginner who want to learn the basics of playing a djembe and Shamanic hand drum. Classes are offered in a small group or you can have it individually. This ensures you get the attention you need to learn techniques, drum language and how to read rhythms. Classes can be arranged to fit your schedule and afterwards you will be encouraged to apply your new skills at drum circles. Tonia and her partners have founded the group Loudoun Drumming which offers community drum circles, where all levels come together for a community drum jam. These drums circles are family friendly and are donation base. Follow Loudoun Drumming on Facebook Groups or on Instagram for details on when community drum jams will be offered. ​​​​​​​​​ Drum Gatherings Calming Winds uses the Rhythm2Recovery format as a integrative model for combining drum techniques to help groups come together to learn drumming as an affective tool to help you have fun, build team cooperation and learn techniques that will have benefits for your body and emotional wellness. The program is ideal for corporate wellness program and is the perfect antidote to "death by PowerPoint". ​ In addition, Calming Winds tailors the drum program for specific groups of all ages and available for retreats, small and large gatherings and conferences. Calming Winds has been invited to share this program with Women's Empowerment Conference, Defiantly Joyful grief weekend program, holistic businesses, senior aging facilities, birthday celebrations, children's camps, group gatherings and mental health wellness offerings for teens.
